Procedure Mini Gastric Bypass

MGB is a laparoscopic procedure that combines a gastric restriction and a biliopancreatic diversion (Musella et al., 2017).

The technique involves the creation of a small tubular gastric pouch along the lesser curvature of the stomach using surgical staplers (Rutledge & Kular, 2019).

An anastomosis is then performed between the gastric pouch and the small intestine at a distance of 150 to 200 centimeters from the ligament of Treitz (Musella et al., 2017).

This design allows for rapid weight loss by limiting food intake and reducing nutrient absorption.
